Program
Day 1: Thursday, December 4th - Arrival and Welcome!
Individual arrivals in St Petersburg. Each arriving member and his/her party will be met and transferred to the : Corinthia Nevskij Palace Hotel. Your guide will provide short orientation tour enroute. - Check-in.
19:00: Welcome Cocktails and Dinner at the Caviar Restaurant of the Grand Hotel Europe.
Day 2: Friday, December 5th - Day of Touring
Breakfast in your hotel restaurant
09:00: Departure from the hotel to the town of Pushkin to visit the Catherine’s Palace and the Amber Room. Catherine was the wife of Peter the Great, and this palace was built for her. After Peter’s death she became the tsarina Catherine I. The palace ranks as one of the masterpieces of world’s architectural art in Baroque style. An added bonus is a visit to the famous Amber Room. All amber was stolen from the palace in 1945, and after an exhausting 30-year restoration, this room, entirely of amber artistry, is now open for your viewing. After viewing the Catherine Palace, we will tour the near-by Alexander Palace. This classical style palace dates back to 1792. It was the favorite intimate residence of the last imperial family, and the last residence of Nikolai II, after his abdication, and prior to having been sent to Siberia, where the entire family was murdered.
13:00: Lunch A traditional Russian luncheon will be served in the rustic Podvorie Restaurant. This unique restaurant features a traditional Russian menu, plus adding vodka and lively musical entertainment will make this a real Russian culinary experience in a casual, comfortable atmosphere.
15:30: Return to the city and Corinthia Nevskij Palace
18:30: Optional Evening Program: Your choice of Ballet or concerts at Marniisky Theater, Mussorgsky Theater, Hermitage Theater or at the Philharmonic Concert Hall. Playbills will be available 4-5 weeks prior to the performances. The price of the optional program is not included in the below prices.
21:30: Late Dinner, after the theatre for all the participants, and included in the program
Day 3: Saturday, December 6th - The Day of the Gala Evening
Breakfast in your hotel restaurant.
09:30: "Introduction to St Petersburg", Depart from hotel on a comprehensive city tour. Tour includes many photo stops in the city center and inside visits to the Peter and Paul Fortress as well as time for souvenir shopping. The fortress was built for defense, but later became the burial place of the Tsars and a notorious political prison. The Peter and Paul Cathedral is the tallest building in the city at 404 feet.
11:00: Hermitage and Winter Palace The Hermitage is one of the worlds greatest museums and art collections with 3,800,000 artifacts and priceless collections of the best western European art of the 17th, 18th, 19th and early 20th Century. It is housed in the main palace of the royal court, the famed Winter Palace, and extends to a total of 5 buildings.
13:00: Luncheon in one of the finest downtown restaurants
14:30 After the lunch our touring shall continue to the Yusupov Palace. Yusupov Palace was one of the many residences of Russia’s wealthiest family and the site of the infamous preacher Rasputin’s murder. We shall visit also the basement room where the murder took place.
16:00: Return to the Corinthia Nevskij Palace. – Time for relaxation and preparation for the Gala.
18:45: Departure from the hotel to The Marble Palace. The palace was a gift from Catherine the Great to her favorite Count Grigory Orlov. (Note: The cost of the Gala Dinner is not included in the below prices.)
19:00: The Festive 7th Russian Grand Chapitre Gala Evening with Induction Ceremony “19th century. The Golden Age of Russian Literature and Gastronomy”
About 23:00: Return to the Corinthia Nevskij Palace Hotel for an overnight.
Day 4: Sunday, December 7th - The Day of Departure
Breakfast in your hotel restaurant. Individual departures from the hotel with transfer to the airport. For those whishing to extend their stay either in St Petersburg or Moscow a private program shall start. Please enquiry.
Prices and Contacts: $ 1,390 USD per person in a double/twin room, $ 360 USD single room supplement. The costs of the Gala Dinner and optional theatre program are not included in the price.
